Fluorine

(572) Fluorine poisoning is uncommon in swine but may occur on heavily contaminated pastures. In acute cases of poisoning, diarrhoea, lameness and nervous signs may be seen. In chronic cases however lameness may be the only symptom.

Diagnosis

This is carried out by assessing fluorine levels in bone which should be less than 600ppm.
