AUSTRALIA - Australia's leading pork producer's group will decide tomorrow what legal action it will take over pig meat imports.Australian Pork Limited (APL) has previously threatened to launch an injunction against the Department of Agriculture unless the Federal Government revoked import permits.
The Government announced yesterday that that will not happen.
Nigel Smith from Australian Pork says he is disappointed that the decision was not based on science.
"We represent 2,500 pork producers in the country and they're all very right behind this case," Mr Smith said.
"It would be negligent on our behalf if we didn't pursue this all the way. "They're wanting this to happen and they believe they've got a very good case and so do we."
